Solo Show: Sally Penley
The Maple Valley Creative Arts Council is excited to hold its first calligraphy show highlighting the artwork of Sally Penley. During the evening, fine art, music, wine tasting and refreshments will be on hand for the public to enjoy. A bonus to the evening's lineup: Experience live calligraphy demonstrations and take home a personalized bookmark or name tag! (One per guest)

About the artist: Left handed Sally Penley has always loved letters. Beginning at a young age, she enjoyed drawing letter forms, including intricate Chinese characters. Once she discovered 'calligraphy' she began her formal education. Sally has exhibited her work in numerous shows and has received recognition in several juried exhibits. She holds a BFA from Western WA University, is a former graphic designer and creative director, and most recently was director of communications (prior to her retirement in 2008) at Weyerhaeuser in Federal Way. Sally is a new member of the Maple Valley Creative Arts Council and lives in Olympia with her husband. Show will run until April 27th.
